Take a piece of paper from the pile on the table. It will have a sheet of carbon paper attached to it. You will draw on top of the carbon paper and it will print onto the paper below. You will not be able to see what you are drawing.

On this paper you should draw your vision of the future in 10 years time.
This might be a prediction of what your favourite places will look like, or what you want them to look like. It could be an object that we don’t know about yet, an event or situation that you want or don’t want to happen, or perhaps even a vision of what the whole world will look like from far away. Maybe you wouldn’t want to change anything – in this case, draw things as they are.

Sketches for an Unseen Future was a drawing event that I organised at the Skissernas Museum in Lund, Sweden in March 2017.
For one night, visitors were invited into the museum for free to take part in a group drawing workshop. The drawing activity was explained through written instructions, and participants were unable to visually monitor the progress of their drawings.  Participants were invited back to 'open' the sealed sketches two weeks later, and the anonymous sketches were then bound together in a book to be given back to the Skissernas Museum.
